Justin Bieber is a 16-year-old singer,who gained notoriety after posting videos of himself singing on YouTube in 2007. Bieber’s YouTube clips accumulated a substantial amount of buzz, and because of his make-shift performances the young singer was signed to Island Records in 2008.4 In 2010, Justin Bieber performed at the MTV Video Music Awards.Bieber performed on the outdoor stage and entertained the crowds with a medley of songs including “U Smile,” “Baby” and “Somebody to Live”.6 While this was Justin Bieber’s second time at the VMAs it was his first time as a nominee. Bieber won the Best New Artist Award.7
